COURSE OVERVIEW
Course Length: 2 semesters
Course Program: Ignitia Online. Homeschool Edition - Parent Teacher or Homeschool Advantage - NFC Academy teachers. Accredited: All NFC Academy Programs K-12 Are Fully Accredited. Math 500 is a full-year elementary math course focusing on number skills, numerical literacy, and geometric concepts. In it, students will gain solid experience with number theory and operations, including whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. In addition, students will develop their understanding of measurement and two- and three- dimensional figures. This course also integrates mathematical practices throughout the units, as well as introducing students to algebraic, statistical, and probability concepts.
This 5th grade online math curriculum builds on basic math skills with an introduction to concepts in algebraic expressions and equations, factors and fractions, geometry, measurement comparisons, and data analysis. Interactive lessons are packed with multimedia features that aid in memorization and retention of math rules and concepts. Throughout the 5th grade homeschool course, students explore the following topics: Place Value, Addition, and Subtraction; Multiplying Whole Numbers and Decimals; Dividing Whole Numbers and Decimals; Algebra and Graphing; Measurement; Factors and Fractions; Fraction Operations; Data Analysis and Probability; Geometry; Perimeter, Area, and Volume. |
