Four Advantages of Being a Part-time Homeschooler

5/18/2020

When searching for the best accredited online home school it is important to know what you need from the program so you can verify that they have those services as part of their options. There are an increasing number of families who choose to homeschool as the primary form of education, but there are others who need it as s supplement and not the school of record. To take advantage of this, you need to find the best program overall and then see what is required for part-time enrollment. It is typically less documentation than a full-time student and less expensive taking fewer courses, and available for specific grades (usually 3rd and above or whenever they allow online enrollment instead of print).

Four Things to Expect from a Distance Learning Program

5/18/2020

One of the key components of distance learning is technology setup which includes the program’s reliability as well as the compatibility with the student’s device and Internet connection. When searching for accredited homeschools online, parents should ask about going through a demo where they and their student can navigate through the site, see how a class is organized and test the user-friendliness of the online curriculum. This user experience is extremely important because it takes the place of the classroom instruction and students need to be comfortable with it so they can focus on the material and not issues or problems with getting to the information

Three Facts to Know About School Accreditation

5/18/2020

Accreditation was originally started for post-secondary education institutions, basically colleges and universities, to ensure they all met basic standards. The government did not want to be directly in charge, so it allowed private agencies to form that followed federal requirements and were nationally approved by the Department of Education. Over time, it became necessary to use the same standards but at the lower levels especially high school. The purpose is to make it easier for students to switch schools when necessary and have a reasonable expectation that they will receive the equivalent education and not have a large gap in knowledge. It is especially beneficial when crossing state lines to attend a new school that is under different laws.

Three Support Systems Every Homeschooling Family Should Look For

5/12/2020

The homeschool community has grown over the past decade as this has become a more respected alternative to traditional schools. This includes co-ops, manageable state regulations and more program options for families to choose from for all grades. Formal institutions already have multiple support systems from parent/teacher associations, lobbyists to represent their interests and boards to ensure standards and improvements are made for the students’ benefits. Homeschooling is education at home with parents more heavily involved in the process, students outside of a classroom and long-distance learning the primary method of instruction.

Traditional schools don’t always have the variety your child craves for stimulation. Once you enroll your child in one of the top accredited online schools, he will be able to take advantage of flexible scheduling, automatic grading, and self-guided lessons. Thus, online homeschooling is a viable option for parents. An online home school offers a flexible schedule for students. But this doesn’t mean that the course modules are easier. The students give a similar amount of focus and attention in their online classes as well.

Some people are of the opinion that those online classes don’t promote real learning. But statistics have shown that online learners score higher than others in exams like SAT and ACT. It helps them in preparing for more independent work at the collegiate level. Though teachers may not be physically present, they support online learners in every possible way.
