|
Engineering is the application of scientific knowledge to solving problems in the real world. Engineers are problem solvers, organizers, communicators, calculators, and designers. These skills rely heavily on rational thinking and logical decision making, which is why most engineers come from science and mathematics backgrounds.
There are many branches and fields within the various engineering disciplines. All Engineering degrees are based on one (or a combination) of the 4 major disciplines of Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. |
Engineering courses are one semester courses. There are academic requirements needed to be approved to take these specialty courses including a minimum of 3.5 GPA in the college preparatory math program and the ability to conduct independent research using skillful analytics along with critical thinking skills. |
