The years of growth characterize the students in middle school years. Without growth, there can be no change…without change, there can be no growth. At NFC Academy, we believe growth and change are a complimentary process that, when kept in proper perspective, work together to produce an unsurpassed quality of life.
The NFC Academy Middle School is fully accredited by the Cognia, Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. NCAA core courses taken in eighth grade for high school credit are approved by the NCAA. |
For Middle School grades 6th and 7th you may select to be the primary teacher at home. We will train you how to use the learning program so as you teach at home you will be able to complete the grading of written assignments, projects, and reports. You will have an NFC Academy Resource teacher to answer your general questions.
Starting in 8th grade, the primary teachers are NFC Academy for all courses. The home is still essential to be involved in the supervision and encouragement of the student. You will be able to keep up with the daily assignments and grades as you use your online Parent Portal. |

The Middle States Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools aspire to improve the quality of education in the United States and around the world by assisting schools to achieve excellence through the process of accreditation, |
The Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools is a voluntary, service providing association of Christian schools, Christian colleges and universities. Started in 1968, it is the oldest, state-level association of Christian schools in the nation. |
SMART SCIENCEThe Middle School science program will use virtual labs in both programs...if you are the teacher at home in our Homeschool Edition you will use those provided by the curriculum…and in our Homeschool Advantage where you have selected NFC Academy teachers we will use Smart Science Labs as our virtual partner. Using virtual labs provides a base standard for all labs and does not require you to shop for lab equipment and lab supplies to conduct experiments. Not only does it save time for you, but it saves in the cost. |
PARENT PORTALWe know that it is essential for parents to be involved in their student’s work in a homeschool program. We have that covered for you when you use NFC Academy teachers…you will have your own Parent Portal in the online learning program. Your portal will allow you to see the title of each daily assignment, the amount of work completed, the due date of the assignment, the completion date and the final score. There can be more than one Parent Portal for family members. Your copy of the Parent Portal Handbook will give you the details to see your student(s) work and the NFC Academy calendar. |
MATH HELPS
Sections of the NFC Academy website includes Student Resources for all enrolled students in each grade level. Each online course has an Academic Instructional Library that provides all course assignments on our web pages in Student Resources. For each math course’s Academic Instructional Library in online grades 3-12 we have aligned additional instructional videos with each daily assignment. This is in addition to the instructional material in the curriculum and provided by Academy teachers in the Homeschool Advantage program, or the parent teacher at home. These math resources are available to all students 24/7. |
BRITANNICA SCHOOL
Some key features of Britannica School: 1) Allows students to change the reading level of a text (between two to three different levels provided for most resources); 2) Provides academic vocabulary support within readings- double clicking on any word provides the definition; 3) Support for English Language Learners- double clicking on any word will also bring up its Spanish translation; 4) Provides ‘text-to-speech’ functionality for all readings; 5) Provides a library of images and videos along with text resources for multi-modal learning opportunities |
ANNUAL TESTING
Some states require some form of annual standardized testing for homeschool students. Typically, a test must be called a norm referenced test and not one similar to the various state created tests. To enable our families to meet this requirement and to help us evaluate our academic program we make the Stanford Achievement Test Online available for our students. The test given in April each year is online for grades 3-11 and for our K-2nd grade we use the booklet tests for students. |
We are ready and waiting to assist you!! Once your student’s application is completed our Admissions Department will gladly work with you to obtain all records needed for enrollment.
As we review your application, request and receive student records, and send you your student’s personal academic plan our “My Application” service will keep you informed of each step along the path to enrollment. |
