we ALL WORK TOGETHER

PROVIDING THE support, tools and encouragement FOR STUDENT SUCESS

how we work together

Picture
Our NFC Academy Teachers depend upon the home to ensure adequate time is given to education, and supervision of the daily assignments using the Parent Portal helps keep the student moving to meet their goals.
No matter what form of education is being used by the home, the best success is reached for the student when the parent, student, and school are working together ensuring the student has the support and help needed for success. Education is about the student and equipping them academically, spiritually, and socially to follow God’s plan and purpose for their life.

At NFC Academy, parents are the teachers for Kindergarten, first and second grades and have the option of being the teacher in the online grades three thru seven. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and help so your work at home is a successful process in the education of your child.  Using the Daily Lesson Planner for K-2 and having questions answered for you by your Resource Teacher from K-7th grade is our commitment as your partner.

No one is more important to the student’s commitment and success in the process than his or her parent.  Because you have selected homeschooling as your option, you have made a commitment for involvement in your child’s education. It is essential in distance education that the parent provide organization and an appropriate amount of structure in the home learning environment. Students do best when on a routine schedule for study and coursework.

You will want to hold your child accountable for the work progress that is needed by reviewing material provided in the Course Assignment Program (CAP) or other information given to the home by the teachers.

As a parent, you will communicate the value and importance to your child as you become involved in the learning experience. Parents will likely answer those quick questions that arise and ensure that the teachers are answering questions and providing the needed instruction. The Parent Portal will be a valuable resource to moms and dads in the online program, keeping you informed of the student's progress.

Education is about the student and students are central to all that occurs in a successful educational program. As the student grows in age and maturity, some roles begin to transfer more responsibility to the student in a gradual change. Praise, encouragement, and help continue to be a role for the parent and does not cease at any level. As the student grows, he or she becomes a more distinct member and contributor to the educational team at NFC Academy.

As students progress into middle school they typically begin to assume a more active role in their daily success and accomplishments. As students enter NFC Academy High School they should be the most engaged learners as they begin preparing for a successful career in high school before they move to college or their career. Success at NFC Academy High School requires the student’s highest level of responsibility. Parents and teachers remain actively involved, but the education is becoming a growing responsibility of the student and success follows this acceptance of this growing ownership by the student. They are preparing for their entry into college or their career.

NFC Academy teachers are experienced educators ready to assist homeschool families in the essential responsibility of education. All NFC Academy teachers have completed and hold the required college education in their field of teaching. As a Christian school, all of the teachers at NFC Academy are committed Christians who understand the value of a biblical worldview for our children.

NFC Academy teachers are active in the engagement with the home by providing your child with help and instruction needed to be successful learners. The wonder of our age of technology is that no matter the distance we can have communication next door or around the world in just about the same speed as we use the tools of technology available to us today.

Whether you are the primary teacher at home working with your Resource Teacher or NFC Academy teachers are the primary teachers, it is essential that we work together for the student's success in all areas. We all want the best for our students.
OUR MISSION
Using innovative technology together with successful educational practices and a biblical worldview curriculum in a distance educational environment to equip students for their future while serving and glorifying God.
