Technology and Business is a year-long, high school elective that teaches students technical skills, effective communication skills, and productive work habits needed to make a successful transition into the workplace or postsecondary education. In this course, students gain an understanding of emerging technologies, operating systems, and computer networks. In addition, they create a variety of business documents, including complex word-processing documents, spreadsheets with charts and graphs, database files, and electronic presentations.
An 11-unit course, this online elective covers must-know skills such as appropriate technology use, operating systems, business documents, keyboarding, word processing, data management, and effective communication methods in the workplace. Additional topics include email guidelines, telecommunications, presentations, information management, and project management tools. Not just for future business students, this Technology and Business course builds necessary career skills for all students entering the workforce and college. A well-rounded overview of business enterprise, this full-year course includes integrated multimedia like videos, web links, and audio clips within lessons to enhance learning.
