A part-time or full-time student may withdraw from a course within 14 days of the start date and with the approval of the Academy Academic Department begin another course.
There is no financial or academic penalty. If a course is dropped after day 14 they should submit a request and reason to the Academy office. Dropping a course after 14 school days could result in an academic grade of “F” for the course unless approved by the Academy Academic Office. If the work schedule of the student prohibited them for work for a period of time at the start of the course let the Academy office know and some further extension may be given beyond the 14 days. |
As a fully accredited private school, NFC Academy meets compulsory attendance requirements for our students. There is flexibility in our homeschool program related to time off, but we do follow the traditional 180 school day year for all students using the date they start school as the beginning of their school year.
We can extend a school year past the 180 days (10-month school year) for most situations when we receive a formal request from parents. The maximum extension for a school year is up to one calendar year to finish their school work. Of course, medical situations and other emergencies can be considered when needed. If a student has made little or no academic work progress over previous months they may be denied an extension in the Homeschool Advantage program. For an extension in our K-5th Print Program and Homeschool Edition 3-7 there is no additional charge for an extension of the school year. For those in our Homeschool Advantage online grades 3-12 where NFC Academy teachers are the primary teacher there is no additional charge for a one-month extension. An extension into the final month (12th month) is an additional tuition charge based on the monthly tuition amount. Just complete the Extension of School Year Form to request an extension. This form requires the site password. |
Need to withdraw from your courses? Our hope is that you will stay with us, but if that is your decision we will work to make your withdrawal as easy as possible. For full time students there is a $125 withdrawal administrative fee.
Tuition must be paid current through the last month of attendance. The last month of attendance is defined as the month when formal notification is sent to the Academy Office and the withdrawal fee is paid. To initiate the withdrawal process we must have in writing from the parent or guardian that request and payment of the withdrawal administrative fee. When we receive the formal request to withdraw, payment of the administrative fee, and tuition paid through the last month of attendance the process will be completed in about five (5) business days. |
